Aurel Bauh was a French painter who worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was born in 1872 and is known for his utilization of strong colors in his paintings. He favored the post-impressionist style, utilizing forms and shapes further than the academic painters of the 19th century. Aurel Bauh is most famous for his works The Card Players, In the Garden, and The Grand Canal of Venice. He also painted many portraits of his contemporaries, often of his teacher and friend, Auguste Renoir. Bauh presented his works in several Parisian exhibitions including the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne.
