Zhimu Spa Club

Zhimu Spa Club is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of urban architecture with natural elements, situated in a prominent resort city in China. Completed in 2019 under the creative direction of Chuanjin Sun, this 2,400-square-meter spa facility masterfully addresses the challenges of limited ceiling height through ingenious spatial design solutions. The project's distinctive architectural approach involves elevating 0.4% of the first floor to create a multi-level experience, connected by rotating stairs that enhance spatial depth and vertical flow. The design philosophy centers on creating a meditative sanctuary within an urban context, featuring a dramatic seven-meter-high reception hall adorned with irregular geometric forms that symbolize the city's architectural evolution. The spa's interior architecture incorporates natural materials such as stone, wood, and textiles to create breathing spaces that facilitate relaxation and contemplation. A notable feature is the innovative water-integrated staircase design, which creates an illusion of floating and extends the dimensional perception of the space. The facility encompasses 53 private treatment rooms, each thoughtfully designed to maintain connection with natural elements through carefully curated landscapes and interior vistas. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining functional requirements with aesthetic excellence. The design's success lies in its ability to transform spatial constraints into opportunities for creating immersive experiences, utilizing sophisticated lighting techniques and material selections to evoke a sense of natural tranquility within an urban setting.
