Xiaoxiancao Tea Bag is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the fusion of traditional Chinese tea culture with contemporary design sensibilities, created by designer Jin Zhang. This sophisticated tea packaging concept draws inspiration from Tang Dynasty tea ceremonies, particularly featuring the elegant gesture of ladies covering their mouths with sleeves while drinking tea, as depicted in classical Chinese paintings. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, masterfully combines historical storytelling with modern functionality. The packaging structure consists of a recyclable cardboard construction featuring a simple envelope and pull-out inner box system, with dimensions of 285mm x 100mm x 35mm, containing ten individual 3g servings. The aluminum foil individual packets ensure moisture resistance and optimal preservation while facilitating portable consumption. The visual design language employs minimalist aesthetics with elegant character illustrations lacking visible mouths, creating an intriguing visual narrative that sparks consumer curiosity and engagement. This design approach not only serves practical functions but also addresses contemporary market demands for products that appeal to younger demographics while preserving cultural heritage.
