Amblem Home Furnishing Exhibition Hall is an innovative architectural and interior design project located in the Linping District of Hangzhou, China, that masterfully integrates constructivist principles with traditional Chinese garden aesthetics to create a sophisticated marketing and office space. The exhibition hall, completed in 2021, represents a significant achievement in contemporary spatial design, transforming a 60-meter-deep factory building into an engaging environment that challenges the monotony of its industrial surroundings. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features a thoughtfully conceived layout that positions office spaces requiring natural light along the perimeter walls, while the central area serves as a flexible public space illuminated by an elliptical skylight. The project's distinctive character emerges from its interpretation of Russian constructivist artist EL.Lissitzky's Proun paintings, translated into three-dimensional space through geometric forms and intersecting volumes. The design philosophy embraces the Taoist concept of small hidden in the wild, big hidden in the city, creating an introspective sanctuary within an industrial context. Notable features include volume stairs that interweave throughout the space, creating dynamic spatial relationships and circulation patterns, while geometric gardens introduce a sense of ritual and symmetry. The 24-meter-wide structure incorporates eight horizontal columns with 7.5-meter spacing and four vertical columns with 6-meter intervals, establishing a robust framework for the interior's complex spatial composition. This award-winning design successfully addresses the challenges of creating an engaging user experience within a commercial setting, demonstrating how thoughtful architectural intervention can transform industrial spaces into sophisticated environments that serve both functional and aesthetic purposes.
