AfterShip Interior Design is an innovative corporate interior design project that reimagines workspace dynamics through a unique planetary exploration concept, completed in 2021 in Shenzhen, China. The design, conceptualized and executed by Joe Ho, transforms conventional office spaces into an immersive environment that metaphorically represents a journey through space, incorporating elements of data visualization, natural landscapes, and technological advancement. The project's distinctive approach manifests in its reception area, where a data nebula creates an oasis-like atmosphere, seamlessly transitioning into a jungle-style corridor featuring undulating grass-green elements that lead to a Wellness Center. A notable technical achievement of the design is the custom-developed phone booth system, featuring 3000mm height double-glazed foldable doors with specialized sound-sealing properties, reeded glass for privacy, and integrated acoustic panels with wave patterns. The interior space emphasizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal through its minimal, modern design language that incorporates elements of fluidity and geometric precision. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in corporate interior design through its unique approach to space planning, material selection, and the integration of biophilic elements. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a workspace that reflects the client's corporate culture while fostering collaboration, wellness, and creativity through thoughtfully designed spaces including fitness rooms, communal areas, and private work zones.
