Beams of Light Residence is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in April 2021 in New Taipei City, Taiwan, encompassing 414 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space. Designed by Teng-Sheng Tsao, this sophisticated dwelling masterfully integrates natural illumination with contemporary architectural elements to create a harmonious living environment that balances modernity with timeless aesthetics. The design's distinctive features include an open-plan layout that ingeniously separates common and private areas, utilizing the abundant natural light from windows installed on nearly all sides of the structure. The entrance is characterized by precise lattice elements that establish a sense of visual order, while light-colored stone materials combined with moonlight landscaping create an engaging arrival experience. The extensive common space is guided by a single herringbone wooden flooring pattern, leading to an earth-toned dining area and a cool gray living room. The kitchen and dining space incorporate irregular window lattice patterns that simultaneously maximize natural lighting while maintaining privacy from neighboring buildings. The private spaces are adorned with graceful wooden materials and overlapping linear elements, creating personalized yet understated environments for relaxation. The interior's material palette combines wood and stone to generate an organic atmosphere, while the sophisticated implementation of earth tones and cool grays establishes an elegant, pure aesthetic throughout. The design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies exceptional space utilization and demonstrates remarkable attention to detail through elements such as the flower-shaped ceiling chandelier and symmetrical stone wall veins, all contributing to a refined interpretation of simplified beauty.
