This sophisticated design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Public Awareness, Volunteerism, and Society Design category, seamlessly integrates QR code technology with conventional calendar functionality to create a dynamic bridge between print and digital media. The calendar features twelve carefully selected local restaurants, each represented in monthly spreads, with embedded QR codes that, when scanned, reveal exclusive video content showcasing the signature dishes and secret recipes of these establishments. This ingenious approach to calendar design serves multiple purposes: it functions as a practical time-keeping tool while simultaneously operating as a powerful marketing platform for small-scale restaurateurs, enabling them to maintain and grow their businesses within their local communities. Developed between August and November 2012 in Bangkok, Thailand, this project demonstrates exceptional innovation in social design by leveraging modern technology to support local entrepreneurship.
