Xishuang Linyu Marketing Center is an exemplary architectural interior design project that masterfully integrates indigenous Dai cultural elements with contemporary design principles, situated in Xishuangbanna, China. Completed in 2022, this 812-square-meter marketing center stands as a testament to cultural preservation through modern design interpretation, featuring distinctive elements that pay homage to the local Dai nationality's rich heritage. The space is characterized by its innovative screen design that mimics the organic forms of rainforest landscapes, complemented by carefully curated sculptural hangings and ornaments that reflect Dai cultural motifs. The interior demonstrates exceptional attention to detail through its harmonious blend of curved tassel lamps, metal flower ornaments, round carpets, and traditionally-constructed chairs featuring mortise and tenon joinery. The design successfully addresses spatial challenges through a simplified layout that establishes clear visual focal points and optimizes the relationship between interior and exterior spaces. Notable design elements include representations of pristine vegetation, coconut branches, auspicious white elephants, and peacocks, all drawn from local cultural imagery. The project, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies a sophisticated approach to cultural integration in commercial spaces, particularly through its thoughtful incorporation of tea culture and its architectural reference to the Jinghong Great Pagoda Temple.
