Calendar 2015 Flowers Calendar is an innovative three-dimensional calendar design that seamlessly integrates functionality with aesthetic appeal, featuring a distinctive vase design showcasing twelve different seasonal flowers throughout the year. This sophisticated piece of graphic design, created by art director Katsumi Tamura and designer Takahiro Sugawara, represents a harmonious blend of practical timekeeping and decorative interior elements. The calendar, measuring 192mm in height, 76mm in width, and 22mm in depth, is crafted from premium white cardboard using advanced Japanese printing and manufacturing technologies, with minimized fastening points to maintain design excellence. Each month presents a different flower - Poppy, Crocus, Tulip, Anemone, Hyacinth, Lily, Gerbera, Sunflower, Calla, Narcissus, Dahlia, and Rose - allowing users to interact with the design by pulling out and changing the flower display monthly. The project, which launched in July 2014, responds to the growing global trend toward natural living and demonstrates exceptional attention to technical challenges, particularly in achieving precise sharp-edge cutting of thick cardboard. This innovative design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, exemplifies how quality design can transform space and user experience, offering both visual comfort and practical functionality while incorporating elements of surprise and seasonal awareness.
