Austin Land Playground is an innovative children's recreational space spanning 892.5 square meters, situated on the fifth floor of a department store, designed by Yen-Jung Lai. The space incorporates multiple specialized zones including a mosaic art wall, shell sand pool, fantasy costume area, forest family play area, engineering house, reading house, and an impressive 80,000-ball pool, all interconnected by a dream train concept. The design's material selection demonstrates careful consideration for both aesthetics and safety, utilizing wear-resistant paint, high-density foam, and chamfered corners to prevent injuries. The color scheme transitions from pure white and natural oak in primary areas to high-saturation hues in activity zones, while strategic window placement and natural lighting integration enhance the space's vitality. This award-winning design, recognized in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category of the A' Design Award Competition, distinguishes itself through its innovative approach to unrestricted play, where children can freely explore and interact with facilities that seamlessly blend into the interior architecture, creating a cohesive and immersive environment.
