Zip Armchair is an innovative seating solution that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of 1960s-1970s furniture aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities, distinguished by its generous proportions and enveloping form. This meticulously crafted furniture piece, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, features a sophisticated construction combining artisanal craftsmanship with modern industrial techniques. The armchair's frame integrates metal and solid wooden components, enhanced by a sophisticated layering of polyurethane foam rubber with varying densities (30kg/m3 for seating and 23kg/m3 for backrest), creating an optimal balance of support and comfort. Its distinctive design elements include thermofused, aged, non-toxic, anti-allergic, and anti-dust mite fiber covering, complemented by a polished beechwood base. The chair's proportions are carefully calculated with dimensions of 960mm x 740mm x 750mm, featuring an arm height of 750mm, seat height of 440mm, seat depth of 580mm, and arm width of 220mm. This versatile piece, weighing 35 kilograms, is particularly suited for contract and hospitality environments, including hotels, restaurants, lobbies, and conference rooms. The design process involved extensive prototyping and material testing to achieve the perfect balance of aesthetics and ergonomics, with special attention paid to the upholstered arms' construction, ultimately incorporating a zipper detail that became a defining characteristic of the design. The armchair is part of a broader collection that includes sofas, divans, corner pieces, and coffee tables, all sharing the same design philosophy and attention to detail.
