Bathing Forest Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of Japanese aesthetics with contemporary living requirements in a 67-square-meter space. Completed in February 2023 by designer Ting Jin Wang, this transformative interior renovation project demonstrates exceptional space optimization and functional versatility through thoughtful architectural interventions. The design's conceptual foundation draws inspiration from the need to create a serene, nature-inspired sanctuary that contrasts with sterile hospital environments, incorporating soft textures and natural materials throughout the space. The apartment's distinctive features include a strategically reduced master bedroom that accommodates a dedicated dressing room and a multifunctional Tatami room equipped with high racks and sliding doors, serving various purposes from fitness activities to guest accommodation. The interior architecture employs cement-textured Lotos arrangements to establish a calming atmosphere, while innovative glass partitions and iron display cabinets enhance visual connectivity and natural light distribution. Notable design elements include a sophisticated double sliding door system for flexible space definition, strategically placed mirrors for spatial expansion, and a cleverly integrated storage solution along the entrance walls. The living area showcases an unconventional furniture arrangement, featuring individual sofas and a 40-centimeter elevated floor section that doubles as casual seating, promoting interactive social gatherings without traditional spatial barriers. This award-winning design, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its execution, particularly evident in the precise application of Lotos painting techniques and the innovative glass door installation method that achieves a seamless integration of wood and glass elements.
