Clifford Chance Hong Kong Workplace Interior Design is an innovative workplace interior design project spanning 50,000 square feet across four interconnected floors in a prominent building overlooking Hong Kong harbor in the Central district, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category. This sophisticated design intervention transformed the traditional office environment through the implementation of several groundbreaking features, including a custom-developed glazing system with concealed sliding office doors that maximize natural harbor light penetration while maintaining privacy when needed. The project's distinctive approach incorporates high-performance sit-stand desking solutions and ergonomic storage systems, demonstrating a strong commitment to employee wellbeing and productivity. A notable aspect of the design is its social connectivity strategy, featuring carefully curated pantry spaces on each floor that serve as communal hubs, while an internal staircase physically links the four levels. The aesthetic treatment includes custom timber slating throughout, complemented by unique handmade wallpapers from renowned artisans such as Paperflavor, Camilla Meijer, Eco, and Walnutwallpaper, creating distinct identities for each floor while maintaining overall design cohesion. The technical innovation extends to the development of a revolutionary glass door system that seamlessly integrates with the wall structure, effectively disappearing when not in use, thus supporting the client's open-door policy while providing flexibility for confidential meetings. This transformative project, completed over one year in four phases, successfully converted a previously enclosed office space into a light-filled, connected environment that promotes collaboration and wellbeing while respecting the architectural heritage of its location.
