Golden Harvest Whampoa Cinema is an innovative cinematic entertainment space located in Whampoa Gourmet Place, Hunghom, Kowloon, spanning 2,100 square meters, that revolutionizes the traditional movie-going experience by transforming the environment into an immersive film production set. Designed by ARTTA Concept Studio, this theatrical venue masterfully combines industrial architecture with studio aesthetics to create a unique atmospheric journey for patrons. The design's centerpiece is an elaborate ceiling feature in the lobby and gourmet concierge, constructed with black triangle bars and strategic spotlight placement that simulates a professional film studio environment. The space showcases sophisticated material integration, incorporating white aluminium cladding, metal, tiles, wood, glass, cement, and carpet to achieve its distinctive ambiance. The box office area exemplifies luxurious design elements, featuring marble desktops, wood-like ceilings, and sophisticated blue wall wash lights complemented by LED backdrop illumination. A notable design solution addresses varying ceiling heights through the innovative implementation of a film production roof structure in the gourmet concierge area, creating visual continuity throughout the space. The venue's gourmet concierge area features custom-designed informative wall posters highlighting popular concession items, adding both aesthetic and functional value to the space. This exceptional design earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2017, recognizing its innovative approach to spatial design and creative excellence in transforming a conventional cinema into an experiential entertainment destination.
