Aviz Multifunctional Trolley is an innovative piece of furniture design that reimagines the traditional serving trolley through a sophisticated combination of flexible materials and structural engineering. This versatile piece, designed by Samaneh Ghasempour and Amir Ghasempour, draws inspiration from the traditional Iranian Majmaa, incorporating contemporary design principles to create a dynamic and adaptable furniture solution. The trolley features a powder-coated metal structure, precisely laser-cut and assembled with specialized joint details, complemented by wooden components and a distinctive lightweight fabric element that enables remarkable transformability. Measuring 760mm in width, 400mm in depth, and 730mm in height, the design addresses complex challenges related to mobility, connectivity, and weight distribution through meticulous engineering and prototype development. The trolley's innovative design allows for multiple configurations through its unique fabric component, which can be adjusted on the main structure via grooved joint details to accommodate various wooden pieces in triangular or box shapes. This adaptability enables the piece to function as a mobile storage unit, serving station, pool-side accessory, or beverage service cart, demonstrating exceptional versatility in both private and semi-private spaces. The design's emphasis on site assembly and disassembly, coupled with its innovative use of materials, earned it recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary furniture design through its practical innovation and creative material application.
