Xintangwanke Mall International Cinema Cinema is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of Chinese cultural elements with contemporary cinema design, located in Wuhan, China. This 3,530-square-meter space represents a groundbreaking approach to cinema interior design through its sophisticated interpretation of Chinese radicals, the fundamental building blocks of Chinese characters. The design concept draws inspiration from the script-writing process in film production, cleverly incorporating three-dimensional Chinese radicals crafted from twisted and welded metal poles arranged in multiple layers throughout the space. The installation features varying shapes and sizes that create an elegant, overlapping visual narrative throughout the cinema's interior. The design's attention to detail extends to the dark brown stone terrazzo flooring, enhanced by metal trimmings that echo the Chinese radical patterns above. The comprehensive design approach encompasses custom-designed radical-shaped benches, innovative neon light signage, and specially configured acoustic panels in the auditorium walls that maintain the thematic consistency. This immersive architectural experience, which won the Golden A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully transforms a potentially conventional cultural theme into a sophisticated, contemporary spatial narrative.
