This remarkable seating solution, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, showcases a distinctive steampunk and animalistic style through its sophisticated construction of mechanical and bone-shaped polished plywood sheets interconnected with exposed steel bolts. The sofa's engineering demonstrates exceptional technical prowess, featuring a complex structural system where intersecting plywood sheets distribute weight evenly across the surface, creating an illusion of weightlessness despite its substantial volume. Measuring 2200mm in width, 1000mm in depth, and 900mm in height, the design incorporates black leather upholstery processed using traditional techniques that preserve the natural reverse side while coloring the face, attached to the framework using belts. The construction methodology employs 20mm plywood for primary structure, 4mm plywood for curved surfaces, and 70mm wood combined with 3mm steel for reinforcement and decorative elements, all unified through a sophisticated bolting system with 4mm steel angles. The design's most notable achievement lies in its ability to maintain perfect equilibrium while minimizing vertical supports, creating a floating effect that translates into a unique seating experience, accomplished through extensive testing and precise calculations of mass distribution including anticipated user weight.
