Armonia Chair Collection is an innovative furniture design series that exemplifies the harmonious relationship between form and function through its distinctive tubular steel structure. Created by Colombian industrial designer Alejandra Segura Narino, this collection comprises three distinct chair variations unified by a shared structural framework that symbolizes the balance between two geometric forms. The collection, which won the Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, consists of Armonia-One, a contemporary loveseat featuring triangular puff seats with leather/alcantara upholstery; Armonia-Urban, a bench crafted from oak wooden boards; and Armonia-Crystal, a transparent polycarbonate iteration. Each piece measures 1200mm in width, 530mm in depth, and 900mm in height, utilizing a 25mm diameter stainless steel tubular framework with 3mm wall thickness. The design philosophy centers on the concept of duality and balance, where two geometric shapes interconnect to create a stable, functional seating solution intended for shared experiences. The collection's versatility is demonstrated through its adaptability to various environmental contexts, while maintaining its iconic silhouette across all three variations. The design underwent rigorous prototyping and testing phases, leading to structural refinements that ensure optimal stability, particularly in the base design. This collection represents a significant contribution to contemporary furniture design, combining aesthetic sophistication with practical functionality while promoting social interaction through its dual-user concept.
