Xiyun Model House is an innovative interior design project completed in 2018 in Zhengzhou, China, that masterfully blends Greek mythology with contemporary living spaces. Drawing inspiration from the primordial deities Chaos and Gaea, the design concept embodies the transformative journey from darkness to new life, creating a powerful narrative that resonates with younger generations seeking to establish roots in the ancient Chinese city of Zhengzhou. The project's distinctive aesthetic is characterized by its sophisticated interplay of contrasting elements, featuring a deliberate tension between hard and soft surfaces through the strategic use of materials such as marble, metal, and leather. The color palette demonstrates particular ingenuity, with vibrant orange accents punctuating an elegant grey foundation, creating visual dynamism and emotional depth throughout the space. This model house represents a significant achievement in contemporary interior design, earning recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2020.
