Created by German designer Rasesh Patkar, this 210mm x 210mm square format book comprises 84 pages of carefully crafted content that bridges the gap between peaceful nations and war-torn regions through powerful visual storytelling. The book's distinctive approach transforms each letter of the English alphabet into a visual narrative that illuminates the harsh realities faced by over 420 million children in war-ravaged countries. Each spread features minimalist illustrations that ingeniously incorporate letterforms while maintaining a delicate balance between conveying serious subject matter and preserving the innocent aesthetic associated with children's literature. The design employs negative space and perspective techniques to address sensitive topics such as abduction, displacement, and conflict-related trauma, while avoiding explicit imagery. Complementing these illustrations are adapted nursery rhymes and factual information from humanitarian sources, creating a multi-layered educational experience. The book's innovative design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Social Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in combining social awareness with creative communication.
