China Overseas Center Office

China Overseas Center Office is an innovative architectural interior design project located in Kunming's new Central Business District, exemplifying a revolutionary approach to contemporary workplace design through its distinctive geometric modeling and open-plan configuration. The 1,000-square-meter office space, completed in February 2023, represents a significant departure from traditional closed office layouts by incorporating broken line elements derived from the building's architectural character to create a sculptural, free-flowing environment that enhances interpersonal interaction and spatial communication. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features a sophisticated integration of indoor and outdoor landscapes, utilizing the existing column network to establish a landmark space that promotes collaboration and creativity. The interior's most striking feature is its geometric modeling, constructed with a metal skeleton framework and finished with wood veneer, creating a dynamic visual impact through its innovative spatial segmentation. The facility encompasses various functional zones, including a spacious reception area for business negotiations, strategically placed conference rooms of varying sizes, and an collaborative office area equipped with both sitting and standing semi-private workstations. The design's emphasis on transparency is particularly evident in the centrally positioned glass-enclosed meeting rooms, which serve to facilitate inclusive idea-sharing and foster dynamic workplace interactions. The project, designed by Kris Lin, demonstrates exceptional technical implementation in its structural exploration and vertical space composition, while maintaining a strong architectural and technological aesthetic that aligns with contemporary workplace trends focused on flexibility and personalized experiences.
