Michael Kalil

Michael Kalil is an acclaimed American artist, who is known for his unique expressionistic and narrative approaches. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1965, and raised in the small town of Cardington, Ohio. He began his art education in 1975 at the Columbus College of Art and Design. Kalil's works span abstraction and figuration, often landing between the two, and use a variety of media, including oils, watercolors, charcoal and ink. He has exhibited across the United States, including solo shows at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts, the Brooklyn Museum and the Seattle Art Museum. His works are represented in many public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Some of Kalil’s most celebrated works include The Sorrowful Women, The Grey Lady, The End of the Path and The Sun.
