Aarne Aho was a prominent Finnish artist who played a significant role in the development of modern art in Finland. He was born in Hämeenlinna in 1894 and began his artistic career as a student at the Helsinki Central School of Arts and Crafts. Aho was heavily influenced by the French modernist movement, and his works reflect the influence of artists such as Henri Matisse and André Derain.
