Wim T Schippers is a Dutch artist, writer, and performer who has made significant contributions to the fields of visual art, television, and radio. Throughout his career, Schippers has been known for his unconventional and often humorous approach to art and media. Wim T Schippers, most often referred to as just Wim Schippers, is a Dutch artist who primarily works with painting and sculpture. Schippers has an exceptionally varied practice and his works often combine a variety of media such as text, photography and video. He is most famous for his larger scale installation works in which he also often incorporates textual and visual elements. One particularly famous work is the installation entitled “The Structure of a House” which was constructed in several parts of the Netherlands. Schippers has also made a number of significant contributions to the field of art theory and criticism, such as the influential book “The Nature of Art” which he published in 1999.
