Asger Jorn

Asger Jorn (1914-1973) was a Danish artist renowned for being one of the founding members of the avant-garde movement CoBrA. He is noted for his paintings, prints and sculptures. His distinct style blended elements of surrealism, cubism and expressionism. His works are characterized by his incorporation of bold colors and abstract figures. Jorn's best known works include 'The Cyclops of the End of the World' (1956) which is a series of copper engravings, and his oil painting, 'The Bankruptcy of the Bankrupt' (1954). He also wrote many theoretical texts, such as 'The Natural Order' (1956) and 'Final Secret of the Illuminati' (1957).
