Architecture In Saint Kitts And Nevis

The architecture of Saint Kitts and Nevis is heavily influenced by the British colonial era. During the 1700s and 1800s, many of the public buildings and private residences in the twin-island nation were designed with Georgian and Victorian architecture. As the nation achieved independence in 1983, the architecture of Saint Kitts and Nevis began to blend elements of the traditional, with modern designs and materials. Today, some of the most iconic buildings in the nation feature a unique blend of traditional and modern, with some buildings featuring curved arches, gabled roofs and other features typical of traditional architecture, as well as modern materials and designs. In addition, many of the traditional buildings in the twin-island nation have been restored to their original glory, making them a sight to behold for both locals and visitors alike.
