American artist David Park (1911-1960) was a central figure of the Bay Area Figurative Movement, which was associated with Abstract Expressionism and the West Coast School of Abstract Expressionism. His works usually featured dynamic, and often angular figures, in compositions that often seem suspended in time and space. His career was short-lived however he did manage to make a lasting impression on the art world. His most famous works are Woman on Bench (1952), Girl with a Bottle (1954)and Interior with a Girl (1957).
