Zhongjiao Tianjun Sales Office

Zhongjiao Tianjun Sales Office is an innovative interior design project that masterfully reimagines a real estate exhibition space through the lens of Chinese mythology and cultural heritage. Located near the mountainous landscape of Jizhou in Tianjin, China, this sophisticated sales center transforms traditional exhibition concepts into an artistic sanctuary that seamlessly integrates ancient folklore with contemporary design elements. The space, designed by Lei Dong and completed in June 2021, features several distinct areas organized around a square courtyard, including an enterprise exhibition hall, negotiation area, sand table exhibition area, and children's activity space. The design's centerpiece is an interactive mechanical art installation called Future Paddle, which draws inspiration from the mythical Chinese Kun-Peng creatures, featuring ribbed, transparent elements suspended from the ceiling that create dynamic movement above the lobby. The interior employs custom-designed furniture and carefully selected materials including solid wood, stone, metal, and resin, while incorporating sophisticated design elements such as a wall installation replicating seaside rock formations and another echoing fish scale patterns. A particularly notable feature is the Blue Sea sculpture, which interprets the legend of Jingwei through a gradient-hued bench combined with an artistic arrangement of twigs and pebbles. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional achievement in spatial design through its sophisticated integration of cultural narratives, innovative material applications, and artistic installations. The design philosophy emphasizes creating a calming atmosphere through soft, earthy tones while maintaining a strong connection to Chinese cultural heritage, effectively establishing a space that transcends typical commercial environments to create a meaningful dialogue between past and present.
