Zhengzhou Longhu Conference Center

Zhengzhou Longhu Conference Center is a distinguished architectural masterpiece located in Zhengzhou, China, exemplifying a harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. The interior design, conceived by renowned designer Fei Hu, draws profound inspiration from the mythological phoenix, an ancient Chinese symbol of auspiciousness and peace, particularly significant given the legend's origins in Zhengzhou. The center's most striking feature is its dramatic 17-meter-high atrium, where white marble-shaped curves create an intricate interplay of light and shadow, abstractly representing the phoenix's dynamic movement through space. The design employs sophisticated engineering solutions, incorporating steel frame structures beneath the marble-like surfaces to ensure structural integrity while maintaining aesthetic continuity. The space is thoughtfully balanced with brown metal plates and coffee-colored transparent glass curtain walls on the second floor's corridor, creating a sophisticated interplay of materials and light. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, which commenced in March 2022 and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2024, represents one of the largest independent pavilions in Zhengzhou, capable of hosting high-level international conferences. The design successfully addresses the challenge of merging local traditional culture with modern architectural requirements, achieved through an innovative approach to Oriental Zen design principles and multiple iterations of careful planning. The center's sophisticated aesthetic combines pure white spaces with carefully considered material transitions, creating an environment that serves both as a functional conference facility and a cultural landmark that embodies China's architectural heritage in a contemporary context.
