Xiao Feng Yin Yue Greentown Sales and Exhibition Center is a distinguished architectural and interior design project located in the Nansha district of Guangzhou, China, completed in 2020, that masterfully integrates traditional Cantonese water town aesthetics with contemporary design principles. The 900-square-meter exhibition space, designed by Zhijun Zhong, represents a thoughtful preservation and reinterpretation of the region's rich fishing village culture and maritime heritage, drawing inspiration from Ming Dynasty poetry and the area's historical significance as a starting point of the Maritime Silk Road. The design philosophy emphasizes simplicity and natural harmony, incorporating elements such as Chinese ink painting, silk textures, and traditional lanterns to create a sophisticated cultural narrative. The space utilizes premium natural materials including marble, wood, and artistically processed tree branches, establishing a refined balance between urban development and ecological consciousness. A distinctive feature of the design is its strategic use of negative space, where intentional voids create contemplative areas that echo traditional Chinese artistic principles. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, successfully addresses the challenge of maintaining ecological harmony within urban development while creating a peaceful, elegant atmosphere that resonates with visitors.
