White Forest Residential

White Forest Residential is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary living spaces. Located in Taichung and completed in June 2021, this sophisticated residential interior spans approximately 42 ping, encompassing both public and private spaces thoughtfully designed by Po Chuan Kao. The design concept draws profound inspiration from the Language of Flowers, masterfully translating this metaphorical framework into spatial elements through an intricate interplay of light, shadow, and material selections. The project's distinctive features include innovative indirect lighting achieved through aluminum light bands, strategic vertical LED installations, and carefully curated chandeliers that collectively create dynamic atmospheric variations throughout the space. The design employs special paint treatments that transform the ambiance, metaphorically representing the passage of time, while materials such as marble, jet glass, and grindstone establish a sophisticated material palette. The spatial arrangement demonstrates exceptional consideration for flow and functionality, with the designer deliberately removing unnecessary walls to optimize circulation and create a more open, fluid environment. The project garnered international recognition by winning the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding achievement in combining abstract and concrete design elements. Notable design solutions include the innovative use of terrazzo base with gray shades to evoke forest landscapes, the strategic placement of furniture to define spaces without physical barriers, and the incorporation of local artistic elements through Taiwanese artworks.
