Olivier Mosset

Olivier Mosset is an internationally renowned Swiss artist born in 1944. He attended the École des Beaux-Arts in Geneva, Switzerland and began his career as an abstract painter in the 1960s. Early on, Mosset was associated with the Art & Language group and the BMPT movement. He rose to fame in the 1970s when he moved to New York and began to create large-scale abstract paintings in a variety of media. He is celebrated for his unique way of working, which he has described as 'working without a plan' and often creating and destroying works over and over again until he is satisfied. Notable works by Mosset include The Big Kitchen (1966), Multiple from 1971 and Long Curve from 1975.
