Mind State Interior Design is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of natural elements with contemporary living spaces, completed in 2018 in Tainan City, Taiwan. The 250-square-meter space masterfully demonstrates the interplay between action and quiescence through its sophisticated use of materials and spatial composition. The design's philosophical foundation rests on the principle that elegance emerges from joyful living, manifested through thoughtful material selections including natural water-dyed steel brush iron knife veneer, white oak solid wood, natural marble, and strategic implementations of glass and mirrors. Created by designers Yuan-Ting Chuang and Jui-Wen Cheng, the project showcases innovative ceiling height variations that create dynamic spatial evolution, with the dining room and kitchen island serving as consistent reference points throughout the home. The design's distinctive features include a delicately grained marble wall juxtaposed against a dynamic sofa backdrop, creating a compelling visual narrative that speaks to both movement and stillness. The project's sophisticated material palette combines natural dyed wood veneers, mirrors, and marbles to achieve refined textural variations, while the overall spatial composition simulates natural landscapes, establishing a meaningful dialogue between arboreal and oceanic elements. This exceptional work, which earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates remarkable proficiency in merging pragmatic functionality with aesthetic sophistication, particularly in its response to subtropical environmental conditions and its careful consideration of natural light integration.
