Loop by Loop Private Apartment Building is an innovative architectural transformation project that exemplifies adaptive reuse in contemporary residential design. Originally an abandoned concrete shell structure, this building was masterfully reimagined into a sophisticated private apartment complex through a distinctive design strategy that embraces and enhances the existing structural elements. The architectural concept revolves around the innovative implementation of loop-like structures inserted within the concrete framework, where each loop functions as a distinct living space finished in unique materials. These loops, executed as freestanding furniture-like elements, create a compelling interplay between the raw concrete backdrop and refined living spaces. The design philosophy deliberately maintains the exposed concrete as a neutral canvas, with finishes strategically wrapping the concrete only where functionally necessary. The project spans 466.01 square meters across four levels and a basement, featuring three distinct residential units with the primary apartment occupying 201.98 square meters. Each loop within the structure employs environmentally conscious materials, including bamboo for the dining kitchen, galvanized steel plate for the living areas, and vulcanized recycled paper for the guest room, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable design practices. The innovative spatial organization creates unexpected double-height spaces and interconnected areas, achieved through strategic structural modifications that were carefully engineered to maintain the building's integrity.
