Light Portal Future Rail City

Light Portal Future Rail City is an innovative urban development masterplan that represents a groundbreaking approach to integrated transit-oriented development, featuring iconic twin towers and an extensive landscape boulevard. Located adjacent to the Yibin High Speed Rail Station, which commenced operations in June 2019, this visionary project encompasses 160-meter-tall mixed-use twin towers that serve as both a symbolic gateway and a functional urban hub. The development's distinctive design philosophy draws inspiration from Yibin's 4000-year history and its significant geographical position along the Yangtze River, incorporating these elements through sophisticated architectural features such as parametric-designed solar shading devices and LED-embedded central slots that create mesmerizing light effects. The project spans an impressive total construction area of 15,000 square meters, with the twin towers occupying 37,390 square meters of site area, complemented by a 76,570-square-meter central park that functions as a multi-dimensional living platform. The design's innovative features include vertical aluminum fins on the tower curtain walls that create an elegant wave pattern reminiscent of the Yangtze River, while the underground space houses a Botanic Educational Centre and Sports Centre. This exceptional urban planning achievement, recognized with a Gold A' Design Award in the City Planning and Urban Design category, demonstrates remarkable integration of sustainable development principles, cultural preservation, and future-oriented urban living solutions. The project's comprehensive approach to combining architecture with nature, while addressing practical considerations such as solar shading and public space utilization, establishes new benchmarks for contemporary urban development in rapidly evolving cities.
