Intermission Residential Interior Design

Intermission Residential Interior Design is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully translates theatrical elements into domestic living spaces, created by designers Guan-Ying Lee, Chia-Yin Hsieh, and JunXian-Lin. This 128-square-meter residential space draws profound inspiration from the concept of theatrical intermissions and black box theaters, incorporating sophisticated design elements that reflect the performing arts heritage of its inhabitant. The design's distinctive L-shaped axis deliberately breaks conventional spatial rules, creating a fluid connection between different functional areas while employing dark, low-color tonality and reflective materials to establish a serene sanctuary. The project's innovative approach to spatial organization effectively dissolves traditional boundaries between living room, study room, dining room, and kitchen areas, achieving this through a careful orchestration of titanium plating, stainless steel, stone skin, and natural veneer materials. The design philosophy emphasizes the theatrical concept of breaking the fourth wall in spatial terms, while the carefully curated lighting scheme, reminiscent of stage lighting, creates dramatic visual effects that enhance the overall atmospheric quality. This exceptional interior design project, which won the Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates remarkable expertise in combining functional residential requirements with artistic expression, creating a unique living environment that serves as both a peaceful retreat and a reflection of its owner's artistic profession.
