Interlude Residence is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functionality and emotional resonance in contemporary living spaces. Located in Taiwan, this 122.3-square-meter renovation of a 19-year-old apartment demonstrates a sophisticated approach to modern residential design through its space capsule concept and flowing curved lines. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, masterfully incorporates blue, white, and silver tones to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The project's distinctive features include thoughtfully planned lighting and ventilation systems, curved woodwork partitions, hand-painted art elements, and various specialized materials including Italian quartz stone and water ripple patterned glass. The layout has been strategically reimagined to accommodate both human and feline inhabitants, featuring dedicated spaces such as a yoga room, reading area, and a specially designed cat bathroom. Notable design elements include a versatile dining table that adapts to different configurations, serving both dining and work purposes, while the master suite has been reconfigured to incorporate a luxurious bathroom with dual sinks and a bathtub. The project's success lies in its ability to overcome spatial challenges through innovative solutions, such as using glass partitions to prevent the space capsule concept from feeling confined, while maintaining a harmonious flow throughout the residence. This award-winning design exemplifies how interior architecture can effectively balance aesthetic appeal with practical living requirements, creating a space that nurtures both physical comfort and emotional well-being.
