Infinity Residence is an architecturally significant weekend and vacation home located in the mountainous region of Gushiku Mui in northern Okinawa, Japan, exemplifying contemporary residential design through its harmonious integration with the natural landscape. Designed by Japanese architect Satoshi Kurosaki and completed in March 2021, this reinforced concrete structure spans 233.10 square meters across two floors, situated on a 645.35-square-meter hilltop site that commands panoramic views of both ocean and mountains. The residence's distinctive design features a full-width living-dining-kitchen area that maximizes the spectacular views, complemented by an infinity pool that creates a seamless visual transition between built and natural environments. The architectural composition incorporates sophisticated material choices, including cedar wood formwork exposed concrete for exterior finishes, walnut flooring, and LED lighting systems throughout. The structure's thoughtful layout includes a welcoming entrance garden, a centrally positioned kitchen overlooking a peaceful courtyard, and a jacuzzi bathroom with outdoor views. The second floor houses private spaces and features a full-width balcony with an outdoor jacuzzi, while a rooftop terrace with concrete benches offers 360-degree views of the surrounding landscape. This innovative approach to contemporary residential architecture, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a forward-thinking response to evolving lifestyle needs, functioning as a multi-purpose space that challenges traditional concepts of single-purpose private homes.
