Forrest Mars was an American businessman and the co-founder of Mars, Incorporated, one of the largest candy manufacturers in the world. Born in 1904, Mars was the son of Frank C. Mars, the founder of Mars, Incorporated. After working for his father's company for several years, Mars left the company to start his own candy business, which he named Food Products Manufacturing. However, the business failed, and Mars returned to his father's company in 1932. During his time at Mars, Incorporated, Mars was responsible for the development of several iconic candy brands, including M&M's, Milky Way, and Snickers. Mars was known for his innovative approach to candy making, and he was always looking for new and exciting ways to create candy that would appeal to consumers. He was also known for his strict attention to detail and his commitment to quality. Mars passed away in 1999, but his legacy lives on through the continued success of Mars, Incorporated. Today, the company is one of the largest privately held companies in the world, with more than $35 billion in annual revenue.
