Chinese Landscape Painting Villa is an innovative residential design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary architectural principles. Located in Hangzhou, China, this 600-square-meter villa exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Feng Shui philosophy and Chinese ink painting aesthetics in interior design. The project's distinctive feature is its transformation of a narrow, elongated building layout through the strategic incorporation of an interior atrium, crowned by a glass skylight that facilitates natural illumination and ventilation. The design's sophisticated interpretation of Chinese landscape painting is manifested through the use of travertine walls that symbolize distant mountains, while a ground-floor pool represents traditional lake imagery. The circulation of water throughout the space, including a innovative system connecting the ground floor pool to a basement spa area through a carved cave and water curtain, creates a dynamic representation of life's continuous flow. The interior's artistic centerpiece includes hand-painted lotus motifs on the main bedroom's walls and ceiling, executed by a professional artist to enhance the space's cultural authenticity. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional mastery in implementing traditional Chinese design principles while addressing contemporary living requirements.
