Brian Duffy (1933-2010) was a celebrated British photographer and artist, best known for his groundbreaking fashion and celebrity portraits. Duffy began his career at the British Harper's Bazaar magazine in 1956, where he swiftly rose to fame as the most sought after photographer in London in the 1960s. A few of Duffy's most iconic works include his 1965 portrait of the Beatles, his 1967 photograph of model Jean Shrimpton, and his 1972 portrait of Sean Connery as James Bond. He founded his own publishing company, Paris Match UK, in 1965 and continued to develop his own practice in photography and film-making, as well as advertising, throughout the 1970s and 80s. Duffy retired from his photographic career in the 1990s, and died in 2010.
