Bathing in Coziness Residential Space is an award-winning residential interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of classical aesthetics with modern spatial planning principles. Completed in 2019 in Taichung, Taiwan, this 185-square-meter residence demonstrates an innovative approach to contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful integration of natural materials and sophisticated design elements. The project's distinctive feature lies in its subversive design methodology, where existing objects inform the spatial presentation techniques, while classical furniture with abundant contours serves as the primary visual theme. The design employs a sustainable philosophy, adhering to the less is more principle, utilizing natural materials such as solid wood, veneer, and marble to preserve their inherent characteristics. A notable aspect of the design is its emphasis on breathability and openness, achieved through the reduction of solid wall partitions in favor of virtual walls and grid screens, creating an illusion between reality and virtuality. The spatial layout ingeniously connects the foyer, living room, dining room, and kitchen in an open-plan arrangement, while maintaining distinct zones through subtle architectural elements such as marble low walls and structural beams. The entrance features an amber-colored foyer cabinet and dark brown sofa chair, dramatically highlighted against pure white marble, while natural light from French windows enhances the overall spatial ambience. This exceptional design earned the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to residential interior design through its innovative use of space, material selection excellence, and sustainable design practices.
