Amalgamation of Oriental Arts Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully combines traditional Oriental artistic elements with contemporary industrial aesthetics, completed in 2018 in Taiwan. This 99-square-meter space, designed by Shih Yun Lung and Tsai Hsiu Yun, demonstrates a sophisticated interpretation of ink painting concepts through its thoughtful incorporation of black, gray, and white color schemes. The design's distinctive approach deviates from conventional industrial styling by eschewing typical elements such as exposed pipes and iron sheets, instead achieving its industrial character through innovative material applications and textural contrasts. The space features dark oak cabinets, slate walls, and black oak floors that harmoniously reference traditional Oriental ink paintings while maintaining a modern industrial edge, particularly through the unique treatment of OSB panels. The ceiling design incorporates an intricate combination of grilles and laminates, creating dynamic linear compositions that enhance spatial depth. The layout encompasses a living room, dining room, master bedroom, and a versatile kid's room and study space that can function as a guest room, all unified by a cohesive design language. The open-plan dining room and kitchen area, adorned with black iron elements, creates a sophisticated bar-like atmosphere, while carefully selected furniture pieces help maintain optimal spatial proportions. This exceptional project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in contemporary residential design, successfully balancing aesthetic innovation with functional practicality.
