Albert Oehlen is a renowned German painter and printmaker, born in 1954 in Krefeld, Germany. He studied painting at the Royal Academy of Art in Hamburg, Germany and was part of an influential generation of German postwar artists. Oehlen is known for challenging the established artistic norms, combining figurative and abstract elements in his work. His artworks often feature bold, minimalist forms, and vibrant colors. He has also experimented with different media, such as printmaking, photography, and computer graphics. Notable works by Oehlen include his abstract paintings in the series, “Abstract Pictures” (1979–present), his minimalist works in the “Grey Paintings” series (1983–present), and his mixed media works in the “Computer Paintings” series (1994–present).
