Al Mocha Port Coffee Packaging

Al Mocha Port Coffee Packaging is an award-winning series of specialty coffee packaging designs that exemplifies the harmonious blend of historical heritage and contemporary design aesthetics. Created by Bulgarian designer Elena Gamalova, this sophisticated packaging system draws inspiration from the historical significance of Yemen's Al Mocha port, the world's oldest marketplace for Arabian coffee, incorporating this rich cultural legacy into its visual identity. The design features a clean, distinguished aesthetic utilizing a refined color palette of Navy Blue, Forest Green, and Gold, carefully selected to attract consumer attention while conveying the premium nature of the product. The packaging employs aluminum stand-up pouches with flat bottom and quad seal construction, measuring 125mm in width, 80mm in depth, and 195mm in height, designed to contain 250 grams of specialty coffee. The innovative design solution includes coffee illustrations on the sides that emphasize the manufacturer's meticulous approach to product selection, while a flexible labeling system enables seamless adaptation of offerings throughout the year. The packaging's front face maintains a minimalist approach, complemented by a white label displaying essential information about origin, taste notes, elevation, and processing methods, facilitating quick consumer decision-making. This design, which earned the Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, successfully addresses the challenge of creating an emotional connection with consumers while effectively communicating the brand's expertise in specialty coffee selection and roasting, particularly within the competitive Saudi Arabian market.
