Akay Neris Residence Apartment is an innovative residential complex located in Ankara's Yasamkent district, exemplifying sustainable architectural design principles through its comprehensive eco-friendly features and modern living solutions. Designed by architect Deniz Ceyhun Baykan and completed as part of an internal design project, this architectural development comprises multiple residential blocks, including 16-story towers measuring 22600mm x 24300mm x 53000mm and 3-story blocks measuring 17950mm x 15800mm x 13800mm. The project's distinctive sustainable design approach incorporates photovoltaic energy panels strategically placed across rooftop areas and suitable facade surfaces, complemented by an advanced waste water refinement system for both grey and black water management. The development features an integrated water management system that combines refined wastewater with rainwater harvesting for landscape irrigation purposes. The structural design employs concrete as the primary material for all blocks, while the 3-story blocks feature steel-structured roofs over pool areas. Notable architectural elements include movable metal sun breakers on the southern facades of the 16-story blocks, providing adjustable solar control during summer months. This innovative residential project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Construction and Real Estate Projects Design category in 2017, represents a forward-thinking response to growing urban population demands and resource sustainability challenges, effectively combining architectural excellence with ecological responsibility.
