Acqua Bench is an innovative furniture design piece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of organic form and functional craftsmanship, created by Brazilian designer Ronald Scliar Sasson. This sculptural seating solution, measuring 2900 x 420 x 430mm, draws its inspiration from the fluid movements of ocean waves approaching the shoreline, translating natural phenomena into a sophisticated furniture piece. The bench's distinctive construction employs multi-laminated walnut wood plates, meticulously assembled through a manual layering process that requires exceptional precision and craftsmanship. The manufacturing process involves an innovative dual-mold system, utilizing both fixed and mobile components, with metal pins embedded between the plates to maintain structural integrity and desired form. The exterior showcases the natural beauty of walnut wood, while the interior features a refined matte satin paint finish, creating an intriguing visual and tactile contrast. The bench's construction methodology demonstrates remarkable technical achievement in overcoming the challenge of maintaining the curved form during the cold-glue lamination process, employing a specialized clip system that leaves no visible marks on the final piece. This design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, represents a perfect balance between artistic expression and functional design, suitable for both residential and corporate environments. The piece underwent a meticulous finishing process, including careful sanding and UV sealer application, ensuring both durability and aesthetic longevity.
