A Green Node Showroom of Real Estate is an innovative architectural and interior design project located in Taipei, Taiwan, that exemplifies sustainable urban development and biophilic design principles. Situated strategically between two major east-west boulevards and in proximity to the 26-hectare Daan Park, this two-story showroom seamlessly integrates natural elements into its contemporary architectural framework. The design, created by Peng-Hsu Chen and Dr. Wen-Cheng Shao, features a distinctive central axis defined by an expansive window system that extends from the entrance through a dramatic staircase, culminating in an open-air courtyard anchored by a magnificent specimen tree. The 330-square-meter facility incorporates several sustainable design elements, including a raised floor design that facilitates natural ventilation through a chimney effect, effectively managing heat from vehicles in the first-floor parking area. The interior space is enhanced by suspended air plants (Tillandsia) that create a vertical sculptural element beneath a glass ceiling, while a ground cover carpet beneath the staircase establishes a continuous green corridor connecting the exterior lawn to the courtyard tree. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, demonstrates exceptional environmental consciousness through its strategic use of limited window openings on both wings to control western exposure and street noise, while maximizing natural light through the main axis's glass panel windows. This innovative approach to commercial architecture serves as a model for integrating nature into urban environments, effectively reducing carbon footprint and creating a sustainable node within the dense urban fabric.
