Located in Wenzhou, China, this groundbreaking project represents a holistic approach to agricultural education, designed by architect Vicky Chan to combat the aging farming population crisis while inspiring younger generations to engage with sustainable agriculture. The facility distinguishes itself through its net-zero construction methodology, utilizing bamboo and salvaged materials to achieve a 72% reduction in carbon footprint compared to conventional urban farms. The project implements a sophisticated circular ecosystem where food and water are continuously recycled, incorporating 20 local species of insects, fish, and birds to maintain biodiversity. The farm's educational program uniquely combines hands-on farming experiences with technological innovation, teaching children about environmental challenges, sustainable living practices, and the importance of agricultural resilience.
