Yingcheng Zhongcui Exhibition Center
Yingcheng Zhongcui Exhibition Center is an exemplary architectural and interior design achievement located in Xiaogan, Hubei Province, China, completed in June 2019, encompassing 723 square meters of thoughtfully crafted exhibition space. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, designed by Kelly Lin and Liangwei Tian, masterfully integrates local cultural elements with contemporary design principles, creating a harmonious balance between Western minimalism and Chinese aesthetic traditions. The exhibition center, situated within the Four Seasons Hot Spring Resort by a serene lake, draws profound inspiration from the region's rich heritage of hot springs, gypsum, and salt production, incorporating these cultural elements through the sophisticated use of natural materials including wood, stone, hessian, bamboo, and rattan. The interior space is characterized by a refined color palette dominated by gypsum gray and natural wood tones, featuring carefully selected furniture pieces such as rustic wooden chairs, polished marble tables, and artisanal rattan works that contribute to its welcoming atmosphere. The center's architectural layout efficiently houses functional halls in four cardinal directions, dedicated to reception, negotiation, recreation, and interaction, while its innovative design approach eschews ostentatious luxury in favor of sophisticated artistry and meaningful details that create a dialogue with nature. Notable design elements include statement chandeliers composed of branches and bubble-like acrylic lamps, which enhance the space's elegant yet relaxed ambiance. The project's success lies in its ability to interpret local characteristics through contemporary design language, creating an environment that not only serves its exhibition purposes but also offers visitors an immersive experience of local culture and natural harmony.
